They are highly automated, providing all functionality required to establish whether the product manufactured is fully functional and conforms to the design specification as well as for calibration and customer-specific configuration.
  • Fixtures custom designed around the product and the test requirements specification to be as compact and user-friendly as possible, minimising handling time (and allowing for automated product handling), and minimising factory floor space required (fixtures are commonly small and lightweight enough for benchtop use).

This fixture does full functional testing of a Customer Interface Unit.

The unit includes a 16-key, keypad, LCD display, two LEDs, a buzzer and a mains plug for power-line-communications (PLC).

The fixture was developed to automate the testing and verification of all of these.

It has a compact footprint of 460 x 300mm.

It includes a custom tray into which the unit is placed below a socket bar which accepts any of 6 different mains plugs and provides contact for PLC communications with the unit.

Once placed, the unit and tray retract into the fixture (rotating 90 degrees), bringing it below the various automated test sensors and actuators.

The fixture was developed to automate the testing and verification of all of these.

  • A microphone for testing the buzzer

All actuators in this fixture are pneumatic and they are controlled by a solenoid valve bank and PLC.
